To the Moon:
Eric Williams was among seventy-three world leaders to submit statements for inclusion on the “Apollo 11 Goodwill Messages” disc. The messages were etched on to a silicon disc the size of a US 50 cent piece. It was left on the moon’s Sea of Tranquility, 20th July, 1969 – the first ever manned lunar landing.
Trinidad and Tobago:
“The Government and the people of Trinidad and Tobago acclaim this historic triumph of science and the human will. It is our earnest hope for mankind that while we gain the moon, we shall not lose the world.”
Eric Williams
Prime Minister
